Praia de Icaraí is a beach located in the neighborhood of Icaraí, in the municipality of Niterói, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. It is the most famous beach in the city. It is located in Guanabara Bay. It usually hosts public events, such as the traditional New Year's Eve fireworks show. "Icaraí" is a term originating from the Tupi language, meaning, in that language, "sacred river". It is a reference to the local river of the same name, which is currently channelized.
